According to the new guidelines of the Department of Telecommunications, mobile users will no longer be required to buy a SIM to get a new service provider or new connection. Simultaneously, each mobile user has been allowed to use up to 18 SIM simultaneously.
According to the new rules, whenever a user wishes to change their service provider or to get a new connection, their device will be inserted into an embedded subscriber identity module i.e. e-sim. The information of all service providers being used by that user in that e-SIM will be updated. At the same time, Dot has allowed the use of a total of 18 sim machines with machine-to-machine combined with nine SIMs for mobile phones.
